Fees
The cost of the 2009 program is approximately $3,977 and covers Summer Session fees, Summer Bridge tuition, housing and meals, approximately 4 units of coursework, lab fees, and textbooks. Financial aid is available to students who qualify.
Paying feesYou will receive statements from Campus Accounts Receivables System (CARS) in late June itemizing any University charges you've incurred, including those for Summer Bridge. To pay your fees follow the instructions on your CARS statement. Fees are due the 15th of every month. Please do not mail payment to the Summer Bridge office.
If you have questions about your Summer Bridge billing statement, contact Billing and Payment Services (510/642-3190) or visit them in room 140 University Hall. It is important to identify yourself as a Summer Bridge student when speaking with a representative.
Financial aid
To be considered for financial aid and to help you make your decision about attending Summer Bridge, you must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with UC Berkeley's Office of Financial Aid. (An incomplete financial aid file will delay the processing of your financial aid application and financial aid offer letter.)
If you are eligible for financial aid, you may qualify for full or partial funding for Summer Bridge.
Once you submit your Summer Bridge Registration form, the Financial Aid Office will process your award. Financial aid offer letters will be mailed beginning in late-April. The amount you pay for Summer Bridge depends on the amount of your financial aid offer and your final course and textbook fees. Financial aid awards for the summer do not affect your financial aid for the academic year.
